St Valentines day is the lovers festival. From its likely origin
as a roman festival, through to modern films and stories,
Valentines Day has caught the
imagination of romantic hearts and minds everywhere.
The appeal of Valentines Day romance is such that the original festival
has lasted thousands of years and has spread internationally. It has been adopted
and incorporated into many cultures and is now celebrated in many
different ways across the globe.
Valentines were the original greeting cards, they are a sometimes humourous,
sometimes anonymous, often sexy declaration of love. Ahh love, the risk, the excitement,
the anticipation, the feeling of life has always and will always provide inspiration
and, in whatever form, valentines day will always provide a suitable excuse.
